Twenty-five days to E-Day... and sadness.

*

Taking a short break, haven't seen any news today have to catch up.
I did hear the the stock market is still down but that's hardly a surprise any more is it?

Regardless who wins or loses this presidential election once again the American people are the losers.

Our hearts and souls have been ripped out through our noses, or maybe it was our ears... doesn't matter.
The race to the presidency has been a brutal one. Full of innuendo, deceit, anger and stupidity.
Our leaders should know better.
McCain has gone more negative, it's sickening and should have been beneath him.
In his other self, the mavericky one, I have to believe he never would have gone where he has.
What happened? I don't know.

Obama took a slightly higher road and I find a bit of solace in that, but neither one of them have been straightforward enough.

However, Obama campaign rallies don't seem to be filled with such vehement anger in the attendees.
No Queen of Hearts cries of "off with their heads" no incendiary battle cries that should be commented on and defused into more constructive emotions. It should be discouraged not encouraged in any manner, shape or form.
Crowd dynamics can become nasty in this atmosphere and the kernels of dangerous thoughts planted in the mind of someone who thinks they must protect the world from the evil doers... this is so wrong and should not be happening, and yet it is.
Do they really think that by deliberately creating this tension and divisiveness that all will be well the day after the election?
This anger won't stop because of a concession speech that says "oh well it's okay that we lost, it was an honest fight, now everyone stand behind the new president."
Can we cure this mess, can we believe that such bitterness and rancor will go away overnight?

It never has in the past and it likely won't now.

The leaders should be calming their supporters down not inciting anger and fear.
Neither of these men are going to ruin the country, neither is the antichrist.

We have lost even further respect for our government and leaders, just as we have lost our faith in each other.
If we go too much further down this road, and there are 25 more days of this nonsense, we will destroy every bit of the
kindness and good will that we rallied after 9-11 in this country.
We have turned against each other.

This is a bigger loss than a loss from one side or the other in this presidential election.

The American people deserved better than this.
We ARE better than this... or at least we were.
